I don't know of a website address for an online text version of the works of
Luther, but here's how to find virtually anything:
1) Go to www.google.com
2) Type in "Luther works online" or some similar phrase
3) You'll get a list of websites with those words in it and in all likelihood
one or more will be there that have several of their works.
Tulsa Library
This is available to those free of charge to those who have Tulsa City-County (TCCL) library cards.
The information is provided by a librarian.
Here's how you do it.
1. go to the TCCL website at http://www.tulsalibrary.org
2. find the banner with the thumbprint images at the top with a text description directly underneath. Hover over "RESEARCH TOOLS," then click on "Online databases."
3. Scroll down to "netLibary/ebooks" and click on it.
4. This will open up a new browser window of NetLibrary. (This is a information product that TCCL purchases with its materials budget. It's not free, per se, but it is of no charge to us through the library.)
5. At this point, you can search the ebook collection that TCCL has. I did a search on "luther, martin" which yielded 10 books.
6. At some point, only once I assume, you have to do a quick registration, which will then allow you to read the entire book.
OKay, that's all I've got on this for now. I tend not to use these types of products because I much prefer to read hard copies of book, but this option is available to those who want to access e-books online.
As long as I am typing, here is another way to access the same information, only in a different format.
Go back to the instructions steps 1 and 2. This time click on "WorldCat". In this online database (bibliographic, not full-text), you can access bibliographic citations of all the books in this union catalog which is world wide. I found 1,294 books by Martin Luther in English. Then you can pick and chose what you are interested, and if it is not available at TCCL, then you can request it via Interlibrary loan (ILL). ILL is another free service whereby you can request a book from another library through TCCL (if TCCL doesn't have it), then you can borrow it for free. Another great and free service of our local library.
