Acts 2:14-36

1. Peter is known to be the bold one in the gospels. Was Peter jumping at another opportunity to show his great faith? If not, why?

2. How important was it, that the people would hear the next 22 verses of this chapter?

3. Is the "preaching" of God’s Word really ordained by God Himself? If your answer is yes, will scripture clearly support it?

4. What was it that Peter is explaining to the people with verses 17-21?

5. Do you believe the people at that moment would have possibly known what that prophecy of Joel meant?

6. Give the part of this prophecy that was being fulfilled at this time and what you might believe the rest of it might pertain to.

7. In verses 22-36 Peter explains that the coming of Jesus the Nazarene is the reason for this "pouring forth of God’s Spirit". Did the audience know who he was talking about?

8. Which verses give proof of Jesus deity through His:

a) Life

b) Death

c) Resurection

d) Exultation

9. Who does the scripture say made all of these great events happen? How many times is it said in verses 22-36?

10. From these verses, is the role of mankind under God’s predetermined plan as well? If so, how would you explain our culpability?

11. With these verses, can someone come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ? Can we use these verses today for that purpose?

12. Verse 36c: "this Jesus whom you crucified". In what ways has God made Him both Lord and Messiah in your life?
