Lesson Five
Acts 2:37-41
1. Give a short summary of what "they heard" that
day.
2. What does "pierced to the heart" mean?
3. List the two verses in this section that speak of Gods
sovereign election.
Can it be said that this piercing of the heart is ALWAYS a
part of salvation?
4. What would have been the motivation behind the question
in verse 37?
5. Define repentance.
6. According to Rom. 6:3-7, what are the identifying marks
of being "baptized in the name of Jesus Christ"?
Does this help to define "for the forgiveness of your
sins"?
7. Read Isa. 44:3; Ezek. 36:27; Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:38.
What is the promise?
Does this verse actually state that any person that God
calls (Jew or otherwise) will receive the Holy Spirit?
8. Should the promise of the gift of the Holy Spirit be
told in telling someone the gospel?
9. What words do you think Peter testified and exhorted
them with?
10. If James says that our works show our faith, then how
did Luke know that about three thousand souls were added that day?
11. Think back to your conversion. Can you tell us what
happened?
