Acts 6:8-7:16
1. Verse 8 describes Stephen as being full of faith and
power. Was this different from how verse 5 describes him?
2. Comment on why Stephen was chosen for the job.
(a) Was it because he was convenient?
(b) Do you think that he was doing other previous
assignments before this?
>3. Question! Can this be said of us today, "full of
faith and power"?
4. Can you think of another reason, besides what Stephen
was doing, that would cause the dispute with Stephen in verse 9?
5. Verse 10 says, "They were not able to resist the
wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke." Why and how was this possible?
6. Verses 11-14 describe a ploy by evil men that sounds Oh,
so familiar! On what other occasion was this used?
7. Can you think of some verses that give comfort in the
time of adversity?
8. How would you have answered the high priest, when he
asked Stephen in verse 1 of Chapter 7, "Are these things so?"
9. What does Stephens reply from verse 2 tell us about
his knowledge of: (a) the Bible?
(b) history?
10. Are you able to give an argument of what you believe
about Christ and the Scriptures like Stephen was?
