Acts 7:17-60

1. Why would it be important for Stephen to give to his listeners an account of Jewish history?

2. Describe in your own words what this promise was in verse 17, which Stephen said "God had sworn to Abraham."

3. Are there any differences between Stephen’s recount in this passage and what is in the book of Exodus?

4. What was the main reason for Israel’s and Stephen’s listeners’ rejection of God?

Is it any different today?

5. How would you describe Stephen’s accusations of his accusers from verses 51-53?

6. By this time, do you think Stephen was thinking of how much trouble he was in, especially with what we read from verses 54-60?

7. How could this much anger be vented towards another human being?

8. Write some comments or statements on the following:

(a) Verse 55, Stephen full of the Holy Spirit and seeing the "Glory of God."

(b) Verse 56, the heavens opened, and the "Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"

9. Write down what interested you from verse 57-60, especially verse 58 and 60.

10. What are some applications that we can take from this passage this week?
