Lesson Thirty
Four
Acts 19:1-20
1. Trace Paul's travel and some of the places that he passed
through before he came to Ephesus. How many journeys would this make?
2. Verse 1 says he came to Ephesus and found some disciples.
(a) What might be some ways that he found these disciples?
(b) Describe from your understanding what the word "disciple" means in this
passage.
(c) What would make Paul ask the question, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when
you believed?"
3. Was Paul taken back by the answer he got to, "Into what then were you
baptized?"
4. Why would it say that they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, and
in chapter 18:24-28 it doesn't say that Apollos was rebaptized?
5. How are you amazed at how ready these disciples were to accept what Paul was
preaching to them?
6. From verses 8-10, what are some evidences that show that God was working in
Paul's ministry at Ephesus?
7. Try and explain why the writer Luke would list these unusual miracles done by
Paul?
8. List other passages that deal with false exorcists, who were charlatans.
Do we have charlatans today?
9. After reading verses 17-19, would you say that the Ephesians were a might bit
superstitious?
10. List the two verses that indicate that God was working in Paul's ministry at
Ephesus.
11. Write down what you think is the underlying theme of this passage?
12. What would be one good application for this lesson?
