Read John 6:60-71,John 7:37-39 and Psalm 73:20-28
1. (a.) By comparing John 6:62 with John 7:37-39 and John
16:12-13, what did Jesus say would take place after His ascension?
(b.) How would this make them better able to understand His
words?
2. Verse 60 says: "Many of His disciples when they heard
His sayings, said this is a hard saying; who can understand it?" What
were they thinking about?
3. Why do you think many of His disciples were offended and
walked no more with Him? John 6:66
4. Have you ever found similar teaching an offense to you or
repugnant to you?
5. Have you ever stopped going to any place because you did
not like some teaching of the Bible or because it applies to you or, (as the
disciples, stopped following Jesus), according to John 6:66?
6. Give several points given in the words of Peters
commitment (v. 68-69), which Peter made for himself and the eleven Apostles as a
life long commitment.
7.What similar thoughts do you find in Peters commitment
and the statement of the Psalmist in Psalm 73:20-28?
