John 7:1-31 Lesson 16
Read this passage and any others that might shed light.
1. The writer says Jesus walked in Galilee,
not in Judea because the Jews sought to kill Him. In your own words, describe
the hatred that was there against Jesus, and who the Jews were? vss. 1-2
2. What might be the real reasons for the
brothers urging Jesus to go to the feast? vvs. 3-5
3. Explain what Jesus meant when He gave His
answer to His brothers, "my time has not yet come, but your time is always
ready."
4. Exactly what do you think the Lord meant by
the word "world" in v. 7?
5. After His disciples had gone up to the
feast; Jesus did go also (vvs. 10-13), Why and How?
6. V. 15 The Jews marveled at Jesus
teachings. Why was this so surprising to them?
7. By remembering previous chapters, could you
suggest the particular work to which Jesus referred in John 7:21?
8. Try to explain in your own words the force
of Jesus argument of John 7:22-24, as you recognize that much of the
criticism of the Jews was connected with the events and words of John 5:9-10.
9. Read vss. 25-32 (a) Did they really know
where Jesus was from? (Give some details)
(b) What did the writer mean when he writes,
"His hour had not come"?
(c) Many of the people believed in Him. Was
this genuine saving faith? (Give Scripture to support your answer).

this passage, and relate them to your everyday walk.
