John 8:28-59 Lesson 20
1. In verse 28 Jesus said, "When you lift up the Son of
Man, then you will know that I am He." (a) What was He referring to by
saying, "When you lift up the Son of Man?"
(b) What are some Scripture passages that confirmed what
Jesus said?
2. Jesus said in verse 29 that "He always does those
things that please Him" (His Father). How would you describe your resolve
to please the Father?
3. From verses 30-31, describe in your own words what it
means to be a true believer.
4. By the way that the Jews answered Jesus from verse 33 and
on, do you think that they were getting the picture of what true faith in Christ
was?
5. The Jews claimed to be children of Abraham, How were they
different from Abraham, according to Jesus?
6. From verses 42-47, find some comment on why we can know if
we are really one of Gods children.
7. What might be the reasoning behind the Jews answer in
verse 48, "Do we not say rightly that you are a Samaritan and have a
demon?"
8. In verse 56 Jesus said, "Your Father Abraham rejoiced
to see My day, and he saw it and was glad." How can that be?
9. Why would the Jews want to stone Jesus at this time? See
