Read and study John 13 this week along with Matt.
26:17-25, Mark 14:12-31, Luke 22:7-38
1. From reading the above verses, describe the scene and
what might be going through the disciples minds.
2. (Challenge) Vs 1 says: "Now before the Feast of the
Passover." Jesus kept the Passover on Thursday night with His disciples.
Was this in contradiction to when it was supposed to be held on Friday night?
Explain why or why not.
3. Explain how Jesus knew that this was the time (hour)
that He would depart from this world and go to His Father. Find answer from
Scripture to back up your answer.
4. How would you describe the love that Jesus had for His
own and those who would be His own in Vs 1?
5. From the passages read, list the verses that relate to
Judas betrayal of the Lord.
6. Vs 3 says that Jesus knew that the Father had put all
things in His hands, and that He came from God and was going to God. Jesus
knowing that the trial and death was ahead of Him. Give verses from other
passages in Scripture that would give Him comfort knowing that He was in the
perfect will of God.
7. How can you use these same passages when you face hard
times or trials?
8. Vs 4-17 The Lord gives a lesson through His action that
His Disciples should have known. What lesson can we learn for today from His
example?
9. Should we take the example of the Lord of washing the
feet of His disciples and practice it today? Why or why not?
10. In Vs 10 Jesus said "He who is bathed needs only
to wash his feet, but is completely clean." What did He mean by that
statement?
11. Write down some applications from this passage to share
with others!
