If you would turn within your Bibles to Hebrews chapter 9 and Lord willing, this morning we will work our way through verses 23 and 24.  The ever do this era a fast-forward in your mind to the last moments of your life in a try to picture what they’ll be likened you maybe you’re on your deathbed and you close your eyes for the last time.  And when you awaken you find that your somewhere else you find that you’re in heaven now will ask you what comes next in your mind is the scene plays out what comes next, you find yourself maybe because you have because of their dying is maleness or age something like that and now you’re able to do things that you couldn’t do for a long time or maybe forever, you find yourself you know, running, jumping and skipping in this soaking it all in do you find yourself looking for friends and family who’ve gone before you do, you find yourself just taking in the sights know the streets of gold Pearly Gates and all if you find yourself to know me ask you, whatever was never plays out in your mind at that point does first moments in heaven are those thoughts biblical is a lineup with what we have to find in Scripture when people find themselves in heaven think about that while heaven is going to be wonderful beyond our wildest imagination at the same time it’s not Candyland it’s not the magic kingdom it happens to be the location of the throne of our Almighty sovereign all-powerful most holy father.  Overall we find from true accounts of people who’ve been to heaven.  You cannot dismiss all these books it come out on people who say they’ve been heaven because they never lineup with Scripture you don’t find them doing this in telling this we find in true accounts, accounts we know their true because the Holy Spirit oversaw their recording in Scripture we find is that the first experience is an overwhelmingly terrifying off in the presence of God think about you start reading the book of Revelation as you read chapter 1 Jesus appears as John is there finds himself in heaven and did you notice he doesn’t high five Jesus is Lord he doesn’t what is he didn’t fall on his face why why does he feel that way because it is for the same reason that Isaiah cried after is declared he finds himself in heaven, and then you hear hears holy, holy, holy Lord, he hears that he sees as we realize worries that he cries out is need for I am Roman undead why because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts seeing God’s holiness Isaias first thought is dead why because seeing God in his holiness makes him painfully aware of his own sinful and we find from these accounts in Scripture of people who find themselves in heaven is that divine holiness exposes human sinfulness stand in the presence of God all of a sudden the painfully aware of how sinful they these are devout faithful man I we how much did God revealed in here and how God with me and yet he says I’m toast on here in the presence of God is basic gut level thought is how unworthy he was to be there.  The same is true for John and John personally think I was leaning on Jesus.  First there the last supper he knew him intimately one who wrote the gospel he told us all about how Jesus pay fire sends the Jesus the one who gives us the right to be in heaven.  And yet when John sees Jesus when he is in heaven.  He falls on his face is it that his gut level response was his unworthiness to be in heaven in the presence of a holy God.  If you think back to what we’ve been talking about here in Hebrews and what the author is doing as he’s telling those folks he tells us.  I can chapter 4 verse 16 that we should draw near with confidence to the throne of grace.  If you really think about it from the perspective of those guys who actually did end up in heaven at some point, and then details about you would think Mister Hebrews are you crazy draw near with confidence.  How can we are right mind is that okay Jesus is gone before the how can we ever hope to follow a picture this to say that you are you commit a serious crime that he murdered somebody or something worthy of death and you find yourself in court is standing before the judge and the jury comes back with the verdict and it’s the judge says okay based on that the findings of the jury you are guilty come back tomorrow it will have your sentence now being a criminal that you are soon as you get a chance you see an opportunity you escape before tomorrow and you hide where anywhere but that courtroom right at the last place you want to be because when you show up in that courtroom and you stand before that judge is going to read to you what your sentence is and you know that your crime is punishable by death and that your estate that practices the death penalty and you know what’s come.  It’s terrifying to think about showing up in that courtroom is the last place on earth you will find yourself if you can help.  Let’s read our passage and will back up to verse 11 to show you how this ties together as we work through this Hebrews 9 verse 11 is when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come.  He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is to say not of this creation and not through the blood of goats and calves his own blood.  He enter the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption for the blood of goats and Bulls in the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who been to file sanctify for the cleansing of flash how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself without blemish to God more will the cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.  And for this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant in order that sense of death is taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance for where a you will is there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it for you will is valid only when men are dead what is never enforce while the one who made.  Therefore, even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law he took the blood of the calves and goats with water and Scarlet wool and hyssop and he sprinkled both the people, the book itself and all the people saying this is the blood of the covenant which God commanded you.  And in the same way he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with the blood and according to the law most all things are cleansed with blood and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.  Therefore, it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with the but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than the’s for Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, Amir copy of the true one, but into heaven itself.  Now to appear in the presence of God for us what we’ve seen in recent weeks that Jesus blood served three covenantal purposes number one it served to inaugurate the new covenant.  That’s how it was initiated secondly his blood pay for the sins of his people and third his by the shedding of his blood that is his death he died to leave us an inheritance
