Open your Bibles to Hebrews chapter 13 Hebrews 13 will be looking this morning and verses 17 to 19 hubris 13 in the American Revolution one when the 13 colonies were finally free from what they saw as an abuse of authority by the British why they decide to form a new government, one with a content with being out from under authority.  Why is it whenever a an oppressed people were is set free.  They nearly always set out to form a new government.  Why is that why don't they try to avoid whatever problems they had in the past which, in large part were due to the previous authority figure government that oppress them and did all sorts of horrible things.  Maybe why not remain free from authority.  Wealth is because we learn that structure in authority are necessary for the proper functioning of any people.  We've been talking about how the priesthood has changed.  We've been talking about how the Old Testament priesthood of the Levites has been done away with and now in its place is the new covenant priesthood and the new covenant priesthood is made up of really a different is 100% of those who are believers in Jesus Christ.  So if all of us are priests authority.  Think about it.  In a sense, a priest we think of them as someone who has authority are at least if we all have basically the same job as believers in Jesus Christ and him we are all called on to make these spiritual sacrifices that we've looked at some people mistakenly suppose that the whole need for authority came from the fall whenever man fell into sin plunged the human race into sin.  The reason we need authority is because of because her centers, but they fail to read the chapters before the fall.  There was structure and authority in the Garden of Eden.  Also check passages like first begins 11 we learn that there is order structure and authority within the Trinity will God was affected by the fall and yet there is order with incidentally, as we come to the last two duties of believer priests in this letter that is we need to think about how the author helps us the writer helps us to see how structure and authority are important for priests for New Testament priests priests support authority that mistake that people make is that you know now that we are under the new covenant, and we're all priests that it's kind of a free-for-all know and we all you have the same authority so and so what they do, sometimes into the better cases, they'll say how can the church in the congregation has to devote everything in the congregation rules the church and worse scenarios they look at it as the ones in Willems, have this loosey-goosey everyone is on his own.  No structure and organization which nothing could be further from the truth.  Yes, the structure within the church is simple.  There's not a lot to them.  It's not like the old covenants like a lot of other religions where you got this hierarchy in all kinds of things simple, but there is order and structure so priests support authority, but priests also pray enough of that was easy because you know I think probably every religion priests pray one of the things I talk about here as he calls on priests to pray is that they are to pray for those who are in authority over the investment by praying for them.  This is all work together to help them better submit to authority election improve the authority structuring the priesthood New Testament priests pray for their leaders.  The new covenant living is not lawlessness new covenant ministry is not without structure and authority so look at Hebrews 13 and one read verses 17 to the writer, a here concluding this section before he gives his closing remarks, says obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your soul as those who give an account let them do this with joy and not grieve for this would be unprofitable pray for us or we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct yourselves honorably in all things, and I urge you all the more to do this, that I may be restored to you.  The sooner you commentator FF Bruce had a very insightful comment.  You're just there will always be the temptation in the churches for teachers to come along purveying new esoteric doctrines to be regarded in for these teachers to be regarded as much more attractive and interesting personalities than the rather humdrum local leaders as local leaders who never taught anything new or content with the conservative line of apostolic tradition as a fascinating.  You know, for one, seeing myself described there is a humdrum local leader.  No comments that's what happens to this right that it is your leader in the realm of the sphere of life.  You know that that because is always somebody else out there that's more exciting.  They do it better, but verse also points out from this text that while the local leaders who function minister, day in day out, year in year out with the same doctrine from the same Scriptures through the ministry of the same Holy Spirit the same gifts while that might become same old same old.  They're the ones who actually work hard to care for you to watch over your souls
