1) As a rule, men die only once

2) Jesus is no exception, he died only once.

Turn with me in your Bibles to Hebrews chapter 9 and we intend to complete that chapter this morning a you may have noticed the title of the sermon in the bulletin I was he looked at that yet salvation and the second coming.  Now what you feel when you read that are made what I just said to what you feel.  Now for some people.  Maybe it didn’t do anything they have no interest in in times type sermons for the reason that.  Another group may have felt confusion maybe you haven’t even heard of the second coming or if you have maybe really don’t know much about it or third group may be your blood pressure started to rise you thought here we go would you know their sermons speculating on the rapture are trying to identify the beast maybe you’re part of a fourth group and you exit I decided me we have a sermon on the rapture oriented identify the least what I hope that you actually part of the fifth you did get excited when you saw that you got excited for this reason that we get to talk a little bit this morning about the return of our Lord.  That’s where hope we all regardless of our view on the in times the should be of special interest to us no matter what our millennial position.  Whether where pre-poster all feel that he is we talk later.  Some of you know that you Christians who love the Lord study your Bibles have come up with different understandings of a millennium more is not one no matter what your view on we all should have a deep long to see our Lord return we should have this this anticipation when is Jesus coming back and I can’t wait till it happens we should have called it is an unresolved longing what I mean by that is he doesn’t let you go.  It doesn’t ever get to the point where any is become complacent encounter comfortable with this life and just sit back and no what I mean by that is you know that there something unbelievably wonderful on the horizon and it’s it’s coming in it doesn’t let you get complacent because you know our Lord is coming in in so he just couldn’t keep she stirred up if you will it doesn’t let you get up and twitter just okay with this life and I are things going in this life and kind wish it would just continue on forever really nice like this know what should we should be like is we should be like a kid on the night before their first day in the Magic Kingdom in a sleep because they are just anticipating just soaking in the wonder of it all, as they as they walk in and see all we should be like every day we not be like that you would it’s hard sleep because maybe tomorrow the Lord Jesus will come.  And so we have that kind of anticipation I’m concerned that we don’t think enough on Jesus return.  Maybe in times controversies you know pre-post maybe that confuses us and it makes this kind of shy away from the anything that has to do with the end time.  Maybe life just gets so hot that it distracts us that it was we realize it you haven’t thought about Jesus coming back in months because I’ve just been dealing with our maybe life is just so mundane that everything is just put your feet up in the analysis just after day after day after day.  I worry that we might lose sight of the overwhelming splendor of our high priest and king when he returns triumphant sign and I’m concerned that we forget that when he does return he’s bringing with him.  The remainder of our salvation.  And that’s a piece of it we often forget look with me Hebrews 9, start reading in verse 23 to hear the writer is comparing the old testament sacrificial system.  The priesthood with the new covenant priesthood which is all found in Jesus Christ, he says.  Therefore, it was necessary for the copies that is the the old covenant things that were all that went with her worship the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these that his earthly sacrifices.  But the heavenly things themselves and we saw we studied the sauce believer priests who are in that greater tabernacle in heaven ministering the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these that is Christ’s for Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, Amir copy of the true one, but into heaven itself.  Now to appear in the presence of God for us, nor was it that he should offer himself often as a high priest enters the holy place year-by-year with blood not his own.  Otherwise he would’ve needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world even but now once at the consummation of the ages he has been manifested to put away sin to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself and inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered me times once to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await him would been talking about how Jesus sacrifice is superior to the sacrifices of the under the old covenant and one of the things that we a point we made this why it was set it was to fit my superior is because Jesus blood actually cleanses us from FedEx he takes our sin away the under the old covenant.  It didn’t take sin away.  It in had that ability is he wouldn’t was able to do is to ritually that is externally cleanse the priest so that he could enter into the symbolic presence of God.  There in the tabernacle Jesus sacrifices able to do is to cleanses that the heart level you see cleanses us from the inside so that now we in our heart into but the inner man morally spiritually we are cleansed and that affects the outside as well and now we are fit to enter into that greater tabernacle to their serve as believer priests in so that it it prepares us to not only did not to go into the symbolic presence, but into the real presence of God in their in that that heavenly tabernacle.  We served by taking our prayers by interceding for knowing ourselves, but others for the building up of God’s kingdom for the care of his Saints for the building up of his church.  We also offer up spiritual sacrifices one of those we’ve been doing this morning will do once more.  The sacrifice of praise and so week we are now fit because would Jesus has done in his sacrifice we are fit to enter that heavenly tabernacle and to offer up the spiritual sacrifices and so that’s one way in which Jesus sacrifice is superior.  But there’s another way that he’s been hammering on he’s these guys hammer out again and he’s obedience a more this time and he’s not going be done, even with this exotic come back to it in chapter 10 the other thing he says is that Jesus sacrifice is superior in that it only had to happen once
