Memory Work - John 13:21

1) Read John 13:18-30, Matthew 26:20-25, Mark 14:17-21, and Luke 22:21-23.
(a) Which of these accounts identify the betrayer? 

(b) What differences and what similarities do you notice between these passages? (c) From the John passage, write down the things you notice that characterize hypocrisy.

2) Read Matthew 26:14-25;47-50 and 27:1-10. 
(a) How did Jesus reveal that is was Judas who would betray Him? 

(b) What was Judas' reaction when he heard that Jesus had been condemned?

3) Read John 12:1-8. 
(a) How did Mary demonstrate her love for Christ? 

(b) What objection did Judas raise? 

(c) What was his motive? 

(d) What do you learn about Judas?

4) What do you learn about Jesus, Judas, Peter, John and the other disciples 
from John 13:18-30? 

5) The quote from John 13:18 comes from Psalm 41:9 which is a reference to 
David's friend Ahithophel. Read II Samuel 16 and 17, and write a summary paragraph of what was going on and why David would say this regarding his friend. (Feel free to use outside helps, if needed.)

6) (a) Do you know someone who lives a life of hypocrisy? (No names please.) 

(b) Will you lovingly warn them today of the danger they are in? ( Matthew 23:27,28; Mark 14:21; Acts 1:25 give sobering reminder of the danger they are in.)

7) (a) How would you define hypocrisy? 

(b) What are some ways that God's children manifest hypocrisy? 

(c) Is there any hypocrisy in your life dear friend? I beg you to root it out this day-it could be a matter of life or death!

8) Considering question number seven, in what area of hypocrisy do you need 
prayer? Please write it down in the form of a prayer request.
