Small Groups Helps

Small groups:
Your group will remain the same throughout the year – this will allow each member to get to know one another better and form friendships as you study, grow, memorize and pray together through this study.

Homework:
Homework will be given out at the end of the lecture each week. If you know you will be gone, please give your leader a stamped addressed envelope and she will mail your lesson to you. You may always find a copy of the lessons in the WOG box in the office, or you may pull one off our web sight. (http://www.grace4u.org)

Please keep in mind that Susan studies in the KJV, so if you don’t understand a question you might look it up in that version for help, or ask your small group leader for clarification.

As always the sooner, you begin a lesson after class the richer the passage will be as you think and meditate on it throughout the week.

Scripture Memory:
Memory work will be listed on the lesson each week. This year we have provided the complete list of verses for the study of John 13-17 ("The upper Room Discourse") in the Bible version you most frequently use.

Each week you will meet with your Prayer/Memory partner and go over the memory work. (Note – if you memorize the entire five chapters, please plan to review outside class with your partner so as to allow time for prayer in class). If you have difficulty in memorizing, please read the verse for that week with your memory partner and take along the handy memory cards to review as you go about your day.

Prayer:

1. As you work through your lesson each week you will note one of the last questions will begin to focus on a life change that the lesson may have so spoken to you about in a specific way.

2. We suggest you write your prayer request out, in answer to your homework, to answer in class and also write it on a 3x5 card to exchange with your partner.

3. Please keep requests to 1-15 words and be specific, focusing on the life change God has for you from the lesson this week. (It is not necessary to give all details, and remember to be discrete).

Thank you for choosing to attend The Women of Grace Bible study this year "With The Master In the Upper Room". We know there are many studies to choose from and it is our joy to have you this year studying one of the richest portions of the Word of God, John 13-17. It moves from the public ministry of our Lord, John 1-12, to His private ministry with His twelve Disciples. He is now alone with the twelve, and has much to instruct and to exemplify before He drinks the cup of death.

Our prayer for you is that God will cause this study to build your hope and deep appreciation for our Lord as He exhibited a greater love that no man could accomplish in His finished work on the cross. That you will come away with a deeper sense of His love for you and others.
