FALL SESSION 1999

I PETER

"Submissive Endurance Under Suffering"
- beginning Tuesday -
September 14, 1999

We have been so blessed this summer to study "Women Of Faith," and look into how God used five sinful women to glorify Himself and to be examples for us to learn from. Have you considered what you would have done if you were Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Batlisheba, or Mary?

Would you have responded with such faith?

Is your faith strong enough to get you through the most fiery of  trials?

bullet

How does your faith go through suffering or trials, yet all the while remaining steadfast and unwavering?

Well, the Apostle Peter has the answers to those questions and many others in his first epistle. And that is the book we are going to study this fall. I Peter is a letter of tremendous hope and encouragement to a group of believers who were undergoing tremendous suffering.

How did they cope? What did ihey do? Why was it necessary anyway that they and us go through suffering?

Elizabeth Elliott says, "No suffering is wasted." For the life of the believer that is a true statement, and yet how does one view suffering through. the eyes to their Lord?
